The FOMC may reduce or increase the amount of QE3
After yesterday's collapse the dollar continues to fall/consolidate against the major currencies. The yen remains the main outsider of today’s trading session, which becomes cheaper after the usual "dovish" comments of the Bank of Japan representative.
According to him, for successful trading in the market it is necessary to trade on a trend, and at the moment the trend is to buy risky assets. Sooner or later the Fed will have to reduce the amount of QE3 and that will lead to the increase of dollar.
However, not all believe this. Currency strategists note that the FOMC announcement has been extremely soft, so there are growing expectations that, instead of reducing stimulus, the Fed can increase the amount of QE3.
